Garrett's dad retired after 30 years of being an orthodontist. He didn't miss a day of work in all those years. He followed his dream and finally moved down to Spring City where he restored a cabin that was initially built in the 1890's. Laurie was the interior designer of the cabin. The place has a very homey feel and no matter where they live, the Spirit is always there. They'll soon build a guest house for all of us visitors to stay in.
Garrett drove the hour and a half to visit them and they were sitting on the pourch. To be honest, I thought that it would be really podunk in the middle of nowhere. BUT, it is a very fun little town that is really artsy. Their church is only a few blocks away and is one built from early settlers. They live on 6 acres and have their fair share of bugs, snakes, rats, and wild animals. I can't wait until we have kids. They'll love going to visit Grandma and Grandpa... but in the meantime, it is a great getaway for Garrett and I.
Laurie made us an amazing dinner with all the fresh fruits and veggies from down there. We spent the evening firing a bunch of Joe's authentic guns! We are practicing for next year's Rendezvous.

The cabin looks awesome! We want to come along next time. :)
Spring City is one of my favorite places ever.
